Shing-Tung Yau(1949.4.4), an America born Chinese, is contemporary internationally renowned mathematician. At 27 years old, he overcame the word-class problems in math. And at the age of 33,he won the Fields Medal, which is known as the Nobel Prize in the field of mathematics, he became the first Chinese mathematician honored by this prestigious award. In 1994, he received the international awards named Crafoord Award which was set up by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences for the Nobel Prize in Mathematics. In 2003, he received the People's Republic of International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Award, which was issued by Chinese government, and he also won the Wolf Prize in Mathematics and Asian Engineering Award in 2010. We can get a lot of inspiration through his learning and research experience, and it can not be denied that he has made a great contribution for the development of mathematics in China.
