The Syllogistic Theory of Boethius (2009)

Boethius played an important role in transmitting logic to the Latin West. His translations, commentaries, and treatises deal amply with the most important the-sis of Aristotelian logic, a theory whose influence is perceptible even in the last century (cf. Corcoran 2009). Two of his surviving logical treatises have tradition-ally received the title of 'syllogistic', the huroducao ad syllogismos emegoricos (=ISC) and De syllogismis categoricis (=DSC). but DSC is the only one explain-ing syllogistic. for ISC does little more than mention, belatedly in the course of the text, its being an introduction to syllogistic.
