The Flintlock Ordnance Muskets of William III and Their Supply (2012)

unapi

A sample of ten William III 46-inch barrel flintlock muskets has been examined to suggest three variants and shows the consistency that the Gunmakers' Company could achieve with respect to precision to pattern when supplying the Ordnance. This is particularly remarkable given the large number of gunmakers involved in the supply of a large number of weapons of relatively new design during this pre-Ordnance System period. How this consistency was achieved remains an open question.[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
