This article shows that the astronomy of William of Conches' Dragmaticon philosophiae draws on a cosmology attributed to M sh 'all h in the list of Gerard of Cremona's translations, the Liber de orbe. William knew a forty-chapter version, while the list seems to refer to a shorter version, in twenty-seven chapters. The article further suggests that Petrus Alfonsi could have played a role in the dissemination of this Liber.
