Peter Giannini was responsible 1777-1803 academic studies of the Royal School of Artillery of Segovia, and in charge of the teaching of mathematics. Born and educated in Italy, was both an introvert and not very sociable, a teacher is responsible and distinguished mathematician. It is not easy to know something about his personal life, but do know a lot of their actions. So this book focuses mainly on his work as First Professor of the Royal College of cavalry cadets and taught mathematics. Professor rigorous didactic simplifications little friend, not have it easy with Giannini cadets. But thanks to that Spanish artillery went from being a weapon based on empiricism and military engineers dependent on theoretical lessons become a weapon based on the best science. Indirectly, this book helps us to understand how European science came in the last quarter of the eighteenth century in abundance Segovia.
