Description The article discusses the author's experience in introducing abstract art to engineering students and business majors. She believes that people with technical and scientific backgrounds often feel skeptical when studying abstract art. To counter this situation, she decided on using an empirical and inductive teaching approach, discussing 20th century styles in architecture and industrial design which are closely related to geometric abstraction in painting by presenting various works of Rembrandt, Paul Klee, and Picasso.
