Building a hybrid landscape to purify the Ruhr region, 1890--1935 (2000)

unapi

Description Founded in 1913, the Ruhrverband associated cities, regions and industries established a hybrid form of organization in order to restructure and redevelop the area around the Ruhr in order to facilitate the purification of river water. Artificial lakes, dams and water reservoirs built in this region were used to generate electricity, but could also be exploited by the tourism industry.
