This paper examines the history of the Chicago globe manufacturer A. H. Andrews & Co. It explores factors that contributed to the growth and successes of the business which included: the high demand for educational products at a time of rapid growth, talented and creative owners, cheap and abundant raw materials such as wood and metals, and a highly skilled workforce drawn from the large immigrant population of Chicago. Also, a summery of the types and characteristics of the various globes and mountings that were manufactured by the A. H. Andrews & Co. is made.
