The article focuses on the 28 murals created by author and illustrator Charles R. Knight (1874--1953) for the Chicago, Illinois Field Museum during the 1920s. The author focuses on the influence Henry Fairfield Osborn (1857--1935), curator of vertebrate palaeontology and later president of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, had upon Knight.
