The Taoist in the Pre-Qin Period(in ancient cnia ) has a negative attitude towards the technological inventions and applications. Here we systematically analyze the thought connotations and knowledge foundations of the Taoist technological view, and discuss its implications for the development of modern science and technology. We suggest that the negative attitude of the Taoist towards the technological civilization is based epistemologically on the philosophical ideology of Tao follows the natural waysand the political advocacy of governing by doing nothing. The Taoist technological view has significant historical limitations, but the thought is inspirational for rationally regulating the development of the civilization of science and technology.
