In the prior of Nanbei dynasty, Liangwu emperor (464-549) constructed a cosmic model, and put forward a new Gaitian cosmic theory. To explain and analyze the context of original material, some important details of this new cosmic model is discussed, such as the model of the sky and the earth, the cause of day and night, cold and hot weather, the position of sunrise and sunset. Liangwu emperor's cosmic model is rehabilitated. On the comparative with the cosmic model in Zhoubi Suanjing and Indian cosmic theory, a conclusion is brought forward: on the basis of borrowing the Indian Sumeru model and reforming the cosmic model in Zhoubi Suanjing, Liangwu emperor established his new Gaitian cosmic theory.
