Zhang, Qi (Author)
The idea that the length of the Tropical Year is changing was brought up by Tong Tian Li in Song dynasty of China. Since the western astronomy and calendar came into China, Chinese scholars had begun to explain this idea in accordance with the western astronomical system. The study on the law of the change in length of a tropical year by Mei Wending and Jiang Yong who are the famous scholars in Qing dynasty is introduced with the commentary of other scholars as well as their theories at the same time.
