Geometría y física: de Hertz a Einstein (2008)

unapi

Heinrich Hertz is well-known as discoverer of electromagnetic waves, forecast in the works of Maxwell. He is not so recognized as the author of one of the most interesting reconstructions of classical mechanis, which was published in 1894 and entitled The Principles of Mechanics. And despite the great number of studies on Mach 's criticism against classical mechanics, there are not so many comparative analysis about his influence on Hertz's Mechanics and on Einstein's General Relativity. Both theories attempted to include the relationist philosophy of Mach, and both of them failed to achieve that goal.

Description Concerns Hertz's and Einstein's efforts to use the relationist philosophy of Mach.
