Pierre-Joseph Duhem (1758--1807), médecin régicide, et les autres médecins-députés conventionnels face au procès de Louis XVI (2006)

unapi

On Jan. 16, 1793, 749 deputies of the National Convention were called on to express their opinion on what penalty Louis XVI should suffer. Among these deputies, 47 were physicians, and they voted thus: 22 for immediate death, 3 for suspended death sentence, 20 for imprisonment and then banishment, and 2 refused to vote. This paper aims at summarizing the attitude of these physician-deputies and most specifically those of Pierre-Joseph Duhem, at the time of one of the most famous trials in the history of France.
