This paper aims to highlight the role of the magic and some supernatural practicies in the work and thought of the pagan sophist and orator Libanius of Antioch. As far as his orations allow us, it is possible to set up different categories which enable us to have a poliedric view of the role of magic in the fourth-century Antioch.
