Un iama del santuario-hospital de Asclepio en Pérgamo (Notica de Rufo de Efeso, en Oribasio, Collectiones Medicae, XLV, 30. 10--14) (2007)

I studied an iama or sanatio transmitted by a medical book of the 4th century AD that it takes from a lost work of Rufus de Ephesus, another medicus, of 2nd century AD. This sanatio happened in Pergamum treats a case of epilepsy. The comparison with the epigraphical iamata, as well as the internal analysis, allow us to affirm that there was a substantial advance in the therapy of so-called sacred or miraculous medicine, and also in the diagnoses of the most erudite doctors.

Description Looks at the treatment of a case of epilepsy in Pergamum in the second century.
