This work is a contribution to the history of the Romanian biospeleology - a science that knew, after the death of Emile Racotiza, a second period of great devlopment. The author, an eyewitness of this period, shows how nine years after the death of Racovitza, the Speleological Institute founded by the great biologist in 1920 as part of the Faculty of Science at Cluj University, was reorganized as the Speleological Institute at a national level with two parts - one in Bucharest and a branch in Cluj. The main acheivments of this spelogical collective are presented.
