Deng, Ke-hui (Author)
Chongzhen Lishu was a literature of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) introducing the science in the ancient Europe. Ptolemy's Almagest was firstly introduced to China. This paper studies the part of important contents in Chongzhen Lishu. It thinks that the Benxing of fixed star was precession and the process of finding the pole of it was from Ptolemy's Almagest. It Sums up the lunar observation and theory of ancient Greek coming from the Ptolemy's Almagest in Chongzhen Lishu. By comparing the content with that in Almagest, the meanings of theory and terms in Chongzhen Lishu are explained. It concludes that Ptolemy's astronomy brought the huge impact and influence to the traditional astronomy in China in the late Ming dynasty.
