unapi

Sweden's first nuclear research reactor, R1, started in 1954 after being planned, esigned and built in the period 1945-1954. After its inaugeration it became the focus of research groups on reactor technology, neutron physics and nuclear chemistry. This article is focused on the scientific cultures that formed among these groups. The reactor became mainly an instrument for production of knowledge and competence on nuclear matters in Sweden.
