Vanticanus Greacus is a Plato's manuscript written in Constantionple in the early 14th century, probably in the years 20-30 by Nicephorus Gregoras, a known historian and polymath, and some of his fellow scribes. This scholar, a disciple of Theodorus Metochites, studied deeply Ptolemaues' texts, as is known, and his interest on harmonic intervals is perhaps in the start of the diagramma he included in the margins of his copy of Timaeus. This scholium is an arithmetic development ofhte indications giiven by Plato on the demiurgos' creation so fthe world's soul; it's based on Timeaeus of Locri "De natural mundi et animae" and probably on Proclus' commentary, but it goes further in definiting intervals and consonances. A good example, then of the work Palaelogan scholarship could produce on ancient texts.
