Influencias astrales en la fundación de ciudades y en las tareas de construcción (2004)

unapi

From the most remote Antiquity foundations of villages and cities have been commended to the gods' will. Mythical Greek founders, as Theseus, consulted oracles and mythical Roman founders, as Romulus, have paid attention to the rituals that the traditional religion prescribed for those occasions. Astrology, as soon as introduced in Greek and Roman culture, has taken on these religious functions. In this article we aim to elucidate what are the Zodiacal signs, planets and astrological houses that ancient astrologers reommended to assure the future of cities from their origin, or to build the foundations of their houses, temples and palaces properly. Our reflections about the matter are completed with a spanish translation and commentary of Hefestion's Astrology II 7.1-12, the widest text we keep on this theme.
