Bi Suan Shu Xue is an arithmetical textbook compiled by the missionary Calvin Wilson Mateer during the late period of Qing Dynasty.This textbook was used by both mission schools and Chinese newly?styled schools.It had been printed over thirty times from 1892 to 1910.The contents and editions of Bi Suan Shu Xue are discussed,and compared with Shu Xue Qi Meng which can help us objectively evaluate the importance of mathematics education in mission schools to the development of Chinese mathematic education.
