Legitimizing a discipline: James Mackenzie's History of health (1758) (1997)

unapi

Description “First I am going to give an overview of the history of preventive medicine, and how it was established in the medical curriculum at the time of the Renaissance. Second I am going to introduce Mackenzie's own ideas and show what he meant by his criticism, and in what way he thought hygiene could be legitimized as a part of medicine in the mid-eighteenth century.”
