Nature and culture in the Discourses of the virtuosi of France (1997)

unapi

Description “This paper will assess the contribution made by the conference held at the Bureau d'Adresse from 1633-1642 to both the contemporary discussion of nature and to the subsequent historiographical debate. I have chosen to concentrate on two particular issues: 1) how nature itself is involved in discussions of scientific issues, and 2) how discussions of nature are applied to culture and to particular social issues.”
