Peenemünde and Los Alamos: Two studies (1992)

unapi

Description “The Second World War produced two great and memorable scientific and technological teams: the German Peenemünde rocket team under the direction of Dr Wernher von Braun, and the American Los Alamos atomic bomb team under the direction of Dr J. Robert Oppenheimer ... This article, based on 13 hours of interviews recently completed with members of the von Braun Peenemünde team, together with an analysis of several hours of video interviews of members of the Oppenheimer Los Alamos team, seeks to present a meaningful contrast and description of the environments and the pressures under which each worked.” From the abstract.
