Description In the early 1750s, Linnaeus commissioned paintings of 450 gastropod shells from the museum of Queen Louisa Ulrica. They were intended to illustrate his catalog of the collection, but the catalog was published without them. They are preserved in the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
