Boyle's/Hooke's/Towneley and Power's/Mariotte's law (1979)

unapi

Description An account of the discovery of the gas pressure-volume relationship known as Boyle's law and the work of Richard Towneley, Henry Power, Robert Hooke, and Edme Mariotte. Although Boyle was not the first to formulate the law mathematically, since he was the first to design the experiments to gather the data, the author feels that the term Boyle's law is justified. (G. B. KAUFFMAN)
