Between 1996 and 2010, Signum was published in print format, after which the digital format was adopted for all its recent numbers. It is a biannual journal, whose purpose is to disseminate the scientific production about the medieval period in the most diverse areas of specialty, such as Literary Studies, History, Philosophy, Arts and Law. The journal, because of its link to the Brazilian Association of Medieval Studies, does not have a predominant or exclusive area of expertise, since it seeks to include – inter and transdisciplinarily – the different areas of study that are interested in the medieval theme, inside and outside of Brazil. ISSN: 1516-6295; LCCN: 2001-286221; OCLC: 46674336
